Longer ways of saying things are less formalThan shorter ways of saying things? Is that right? Qu’est ce que is more formal than qu’est-ce que c’est que?

Qui est-ce qui m'a traité?Who insulted me? Qui est-ce qui vous avez traité? Who insulted you? Traiter is new verb for me.

I didn’t think the lesson prepared for me the present opening question ...Where did all those ‘t’s come from? I didn’t understand the difference between the answers - well done to all thise below who did, but this was - and will probably remain - a mystery to me :(

Present continuous actionBonjour, team. "Anne est en train d'aller à Paris." In addition to, "Anne is going to Paris", would a more precise translation be, "Anne is on her way to Paris"? Would the second translation be correct?

Why do we use "après que" instead of "après" if there is no subjunctive verb to follow?Hi, What is the difference between these two sentences? Elles rentrent après que le bus les a déposées. Elles rentrent après le bus les a déposées. I don't understand why the second one is not correct so I guess I don't understand when to use "après que" vs a simple "après." Don't they mean the same thing? Is there a rule? Thanks.

Can someone please explain why the etre is used in the following question instead of Avoir. I'm a bit confused by this because most of the other sentences do not use je suis. Thanks Je suis avec ma copine depuis 2005. I have been with my girlfriend since 2005.
