In the last sentence, "Exactement Yvan ! Prenez votre temps et restez détendus !", the adjective détendus is plural; the previous comment was directed at Yvan.  I would expect the singular détendu if the comment is directed at Yvan.  Another interpretation is that the comment is directed at both Yvan and his friend or perhaps others in the group.   It is a bit ambiguous.   Do you agree?

Regardez les phrases suivante: Elle est à l'origin du groupe, et elle écrit la majorité des chansons. J'adore sa voix. Ce semble que "sa" dans ce dernière phrase réfère à Chantal Lauby, pas Jennifer. N'est-ce pas?

How do you know whether to use "depuis" or "il y a" to express a period of time. These lessons have had "J'habite à Paris depuis cinq ans" and also "J'ai mangé il y a un heure"

I know that typically, retourner is used to mean "to go back" and rendre is used to mean "to give back." But on this page: https://www.lawlessfrench.com/grammar/auxiliary-verbs-2/ , which discusses using variable auxiliary verbs in the passé composé, it mentions that retourner can also be used transitively and in that case, it changes its meaning to "to give back." So in the passé composé, can retourner be used in the same way that rendre is?

For example, would both of these be correct?

1. J'ai rendu le livre à la bibliothèque.

2. J'ai retourné le livre à la bibliothèque.

Je veux etudier des sujets autres que le passe simple, mais le programme me donne 9 questions du passe simple sur 10 dans chaque test, meme si j'active le test a partir des lecons sur d'autres sujets. Comment sortir de cet engrenage? 

I chose the correct answer and yet I was scored as if I had not. This is not the first time this has happened. Why does it happen and how can I correct the situation when it happens?

L'adjectif "long" précède normalement le nom et si j'ai "a big white house", c'est une grande maison blanche, n'est-ce pas?  Pourquoi dans le cas des cheveux sont-ils "les cheveux longs et raides" et pas "les longs cheveux raides"?  Merci.

If I am trying to say Amongst all the sports, I like playing ______ the least or I don't like playing _____ the most, which one(s) of the following forms are correct? Is it a superlative with verbs or with nouns?

Je n'aime pas jouer au foot le plus.

J'aime jouer au foot le moins.

J'aime le moins jouer au foot.

Je n'aime pas le plus jouer au foot.
