I am having the same difficulty as others here--my definitions of the English words don't match the definitions used in the lessons, so it's hard for me to wrap my brain around the translations.

One particular translation I am confused by is "plusieurs". I learned that to mean 'many', and that is how Google Translate defines it, but in my writing exercise "plusieurs défauts" for 'many faults' was marked wrong, and the lesson says it means 'several'. Is that right? It's so confusing!

Telling the time in FrenchBonjour! If you use the 12 hour clock, instead of 24 hour, to say the time in French, do you always use "demie" for half past the hour, even if the time is after mid-day? For example, in the weekend writing challenge: Level A2: "This weekend, I became an aunty!", I got this line wrong: (below, is copied from the writing challenge page:) You wrote: vers dix heures trente du soir. Correct answers: vers vingt-deux heures trente. or vers dix heures et demie (du soir). I understood from kwiziq lessons, that if the time was after mid-day, then you wrote trente instead of demie, and if you used the 12 hour clock, you needed to state if the time was morning or evening (which I did). The use of pour.The problem I have is with the question of how to translate "Gregory goes away for the holidays" and one of the answers is give as "Gregory part pour les vacances." In the notes the use of "pour" as I understand is used only with future durations of events, either stated, or even implied. The question though is a general statement of habit as I read it, so is "pour allowed in these cases?

Pronunciation of 'tandis que' ?

The pronunciation of 'tandis que' in this exercise has the 's' pronounced quite clearly (sounds like tandisse que). I wondered if this was an optional way to pronounce it, as I thought that the final 's' is usually silent in this word ?

Est-il acceptable utiliser en avec quelqun (any) region/état/province? Salut! Au fin du leçon il dit "Note that en is also acceptable for reasons of pronunciation." Est-il acceptable utiliser 'en' avec tous les regions/états/provinces? Cela rendrait cette règle plus faciles à retenir!
