depuis and ImparfaitI came across a sentence in a book where "depuis" was used along with the imparfait - can maybe you please confirm if it was used correctly? "Comme je ne faisais pas de bruit depuis un moment, maman est venue voir ce qui se passait." Merci d'avance!

Passé simple vs. Imparfait"During that time, I was very busy." is translated using le Passé simple. However, would not l'Imparfait be more appropriate here, given that it is a statement about a longer period of time? -- Chris.

Is ice cream plural in French?In the weekend A1 writing excersize it gave, "Leurs glaces sont excellentes !" as the answer for, "Their ice cream is excellent." I got it wrong, of course, because I used it as a singular like I would in English. But earlier in the dialog, they also used it singularly, so I'm not sure why or when it should be plural?

Could you use a subjunctive if one said, 'Je ne sais pas si ....'

Guessing that 'Je ne sais pas si ...' is acceptable ? If so, does the same rule apply to use a subjunctive as you would when 'Je ne sais pas que ...' is used ?

When to use avec ?Why in the sentence, "On ne doit pas parler la bouche pleine." is avec not used before 'la bouche pleine" ? Is there a rule to guide us on when to use or not use avec ?

Il faut qu'ils sachent conduireJust to test it. Is the rule as follows. If these verbs are preceded with something like il faut subjuntive, if not and positive, indicative, if not and negative subjunctive, subjunctive? Eg il faut qu'ils sachent conduire, ils savent conduire, ils ne sachent pas conduire. Correct or not please?
