Passé Composé or Plus-que-parfait“I snuck into the woods behind our house.” Is translated as: “je m'étais faufilé dans la forêt derrière la maison”. But shouldn’t this be Passé Composé (j’ai faufilé) instead of Plus-que-parfait.

"Pu" sounded like "plus"

In "J'aurais pu changer ..." I kept hearing and "l" in "pu." Did anybody else hear this, too?

Spelling of the adverb tout/tout/toutes before an adjective in feminine formIn the "Le 14 juillet en famille - Tout" quiz linked to Laura's Newletter of 16Jul21, there is one answer I do not understand. It is in the sentence "Avant de se mettre en route, on se réunit tous devant la maison pour que ma grand-mère, toute habillée de bleu" . I wrote "tout habillée" but the correction is given as "toute habillée". I think that in this sentence, tout/toute is an adverb complementing the adjective, habillée. Habillée is in the feminine form to agree with "Elle". I thought in this situation, the adverb, tout, changed to agree ONLY when the adjective was feminine AND began with a consonant or an aspirated h……. I believe habillée begins with a mute h. I would be grateful if you can explain why it should be toute habillée in this case. Thank you. A.

avoir envie/ avoir besoin de

For me, avoir envie means would like, or wants..., whereas avoir besoin de indicates a need. This distinction seems borne out by the lesson itself, where avoir envie is NOT shown as an alterntive to avoir besoin de...In your lesson you say that in some/certain cases avoir envie can mean "need", but there are no examples of this and there's no explanation. Looking at the examples, it appears that avoir envie CAN mean "need": IF it is followed by "aller". I agree with Sandra (below). This matter shouls not be tested until the distinction is made clear.

It would be great if a translation appears too! I have to use a translator to get an idea of what the words mean in context and its not always accurate or reliable.

What is the role of 'd'ailleurs' in the above sentence? I am guessing it means 'anyway'. Thanks

Sam fait de l'aïkido.

I do not understand why "Sams does Aikido" is translated as "Sam fait de l'aïkido.". The lesson says that in front of masculine nouns that de le and les will contract to du and des. Why is this not "Sam fait du aïkido"?

Wrong translationI have studied in Toulouse for two years means it happened in the past. Means I am no longer studying in Toulouse.

J'ai étudié à Toulouse pendant deux mois. Then why is it wrong. Please explain.
