The examples:

1. J’ai besoin d’aller faire les courses avant le dîner   and

2. Je dois aller faire les courses avant dîner 

I understand that in 1. the noun is used and in 2. the verb but in 2. could you also say

Je dois aller faire les courses avant le dîner ?

I’m asking because my mind translates 2. as - i need to go shopping before dining. 

Why is the translation  'Le club fermera dans dix minutes" wrong in answer to the question "The club closes in 10 minutes'' 

 when 'fermera'  translates to 'will close' Or 'The club will close in 10 minutes'

 But 'Le club ferme dans dix minutes' is the correct answer. Surely 'will close' and 'closes' is the same meaning. 

I have no idea what this story is about.  Very frustrating.  Also, the audio was way too fast and running together.

Why is it "là" instead of "ici"?

Can we use "vite" instead of rapide?

In the last sentence, I used "Elle est" but was corrected to "C'est" and referred to the lesson for using c'est vs. elle/il est when saying "it is." I was confused by this, however, because I wasn't trying to say "it is" -- I was trying to say "she is," referring to Marc's daughter. What is the reason for the last sentence using "C'est"?

I would have expected 'un conte' to be a 'short story'. I was under the impression that 'Une nouvelle' tends to be a long short story. Thus 'Bel-Ami' is a 'roman', 'Boule de Suif' is a 'nouvelle' but 'Une Vendetta' is a 'conte'. What do you think/?
