In this sentence, can I use the expletive 'ne'? Or, it will mean double negative?
Here, de l' is being used as a partitive article? Or de comes with thèmes?
If the second case is true, can we omit the second de here: qui explore les thèmes de l'avarice et (de) l'hypocrisie
Thank you
tell me the meaning of basic preopositions such as a de au aux du
How do you know when to use tu and when to use vous?
Why "des murs d'escalade" instead of "de murs d'escalade"? Note "beaucoup d'obstacles."
This seems a little unfair. Nearly all the 'mistakes' were due to punctuation - leaving out a dash or comma at the end of the phrase, or using a full stop instead of an exclamation mark. Also, I could have done with a reminder of how to get the accents to work. Most of the wording matched Kwiziq's version to a greater or lesser extent. So, 0 out of 65 seems a little harsh and doesn't exact encourage me to try another of these writing exercises. Also, there was no clear instruction how to finish the exercise.
Why is the word on used twice in this sentence? Est-ce qu'on peut-on aller au parc s'il te plaît ?
I’m confused. The lesson states:
“To express lacking [something], you use:
manquer de or d' + [thing]As you're literally saying I lack of [something], you never use partitive articles (du, de l', de la, des) here; i.e., Je manque du sucre.”
So why not “Je manque de sucre?” The answer directly contradicts the Green highlighted guidance.
Bonjour,
J'ai un cahier des exercices de preposition. Dans l'un d'exercice. Je dois traduire: "Do you (vous) have any lemon?" en francais.
J'ai écrit, "est-ce que vous avez quelque citron ?"
Mais, le bon reponse est, "avez-vous de citron ?"
Quel est la différence entre "quelque" et "de" to express any?
Merci en avance!
For the Kwiz question, "Which of the following adjectives are correctly placed?", I did NOT select "un oiseau joli" (because I was following the BAGS rule) - but Kwiziq marked this answer incorrect. Why? Isn't the correct version of this phrase "un joli ouiseau"?
