Difference between action going on right now and a more general state of affairs?For instance, if I say in English "I'm studying French," I could mean "Oh, I'm actually reading my French lessons right now" or "I'm taking a course in French, but not right at this exact second." Can you use the 'être en train de" construction for the second sense, or does that not work in French?

avoir un exam?Is "avoir un exam" an idiom for passing an exam? Just wondering about the translation for one of the example sentences. I was thinking to pass the exam might be more like "Je veux que vous reussissiez tous votre examen?" and that the sentence above using avoir is referring to all taking or having exams? Merci pour l'aide !

Aller àConfused re "These hats suit us" I put: Ces chapeaux... vont à nous" thinking that it had to contain the "aller à" form, and also that it'd be weird to end in the verb. But correct answer was "Ces chapeaux nous vont". Can you explain this one for me? Tx!

Why 'avoir' instead of 'etre' before 'raison'I saw in one of the examples the following sentence. Je crois que mon ami a raison. why is 'a' used before 'raison'. Shouldn't it be 'est' if we speak literally?

How do these work with en?If you want the quantifier to be a direct object, would you use it like: Paul a bu quelques verres de vin hier ---> Paul en a bu quelques hier ??

Reflexive verbs in passé composé agreementI know that all reflexive verbs are conjugated with être in the passé composé, and that the past participle agrees with the subject in number and gender. I learned that when there is another object present (a body part in all or most cases) there is no agreement. In an A2 test, I answered "Elles se sont brossé les cheveux." and was marked wrong, with "Elles se sont brossées les cheveux." as the correct answer. I asked this question on the quiz question site and was redirected to this Q and A board. Thanks for your help/clarification. -- Bonnie Christianson
