Can the infinitive be implied?Can the infiniive be implied in this construction? For example: J’aurais pu traduire le titre, mais j'ai décidé de ne pas. (I could have translated the title but I decided not to.)

How is the question "What does ''noyau'' mean?" relevant to the lesson? And where is the answer to be found in the lesson? It was one of the questions in the micro-quiz.

mieux instead of meilleureHere's an example from your quiz: "Annette est meilleure en natation que Julie." Since we're referring to "swimming", a verb...wouldn't we use "mieux" here instead of "meilleure?

des vs les (retry)From a recent writing challenge: "It was an excellent exhibition, and she was even able to taste local specialties!" "c'était une exposition magnificent et elle a même pu goûter LES spécialités locales !" I had expected DES rather than LES here, would you please explain?

I don’t think it is correct English to say ‘Merseyside comprises Liverpool’. One could possibly say ‘includes Liverpool’?Maybe it is a phrase that doesn’t directly translate?

What am I missing???"The day before, I had written him a letter." Now, of course I can translate this safely as "La veille, ...". However, why not as "Le jour précédant,..."? After all, it stands on its own, or doesn't it? -- Chris.

Use of word 'pleins'

hi room, experts:

Please explain why sentence, 'And it was with stars in my eyes that I came out of that magical place!' translates as, Et c'est avec des étoiles plein les yeux que je suis sortie de ce lieu magique

My question refers to the usage of the word, 'pleins'. I am wondering if 'pleins' is being used as a preposition here in the same way that 'dans' is, and if so can it be used as an alternative in other case too.
