but at the end, you say '....de si jolis cadeaux'. It is hard to know if it is plural or not by just listening, especially when we started with just the one.

General vs. Particular

Do you like pizza? is a question about pizza in general. Therefore according to the lesson it should be C'est but the answer given is Elle. I think either the answer or the lesson should be changed.

Can someone please explain why the etre is used in the following question instead of Avoir. I'm a bit confused by this because most of the other sentences do not use je suis. Thanks Je suis avec ma copine depuis 2005. I have been with my girlfriend since 2005.

Why faillir de rater rather than presque rater?

Faillir de (rater, for example) is being used. I have no problem with this usage, but wonder why presque is not used at all -- e.g., j'ai presque rate as an alternative to j'ai failli rate. Just curious. Thanks!
