Aimer bien and negation

Just a few days ago I came across Jacques Brel's song "Le moribund", which has the line: "Adieu l'Antoine, je t'aimais pas bien", which I took to mean that the speaker didn't like Antoine. Is the rule that "aimer bien" can't be used in a negative sentence something that can be overridden in some cases, such as in art to make a line scan better, or does its use in the song suggest that the speaker isn't well spoken? Maybe an exception that tests the rule?

Again question "...haven't been in France for long."

Test question: How would you say "I haven't been in France for long."?

Per the lesson, Ne...pas + Présent indicatif + depuis longtemps = not long / not for long -> It started a short while ago, and is still ongoing

My answer marked incorrect: Je n'arrive pas en France depuis longtemps.

Correct answer per system: Je ne suis pas arrivé en France depuis longtemps.

According to the lesson,

use of Présent indicatif translates as "not long / not for a long time," whereas

use of Passé composé translates as "not for a long time / not for ages; over and done in the past"

synonymous or separate?The lesson states that using the pronoun "on" is equivalent to using the pronoun "nous" to indicate "we", but when appearing in a quiz it says that using "nous" is incorrect and "on" is correct. If there is a significant difference in usage, then it should be explained in the lesson, as it fails to do so. If it states that they are synonymous and exchangeable in use, then correction needs to be to that effect. I can't learn how to use them for what they mean when in dictation they are one thing but are another thing entirely when put into practice.

Sauf que plus indicative is synonymous with a moins que + subjunctive, but was marked incorrect in quiz. Suggest that lesson mentions this alternative
