Telling the time.In English we often phrases like " quarter past", "five past" , "five to" by themselves when referring to time. Consider the situation when everyone knows it is about say six o'clock and we are all waiting for the bus or the train to arrive. Someone may ask "When is the next bus?" and someone will informally answer "five past". Everyone knows what this means. Is there an equivalent in French? Or do we have to say it formally " (Il est six heures cinq)

Using "depuis" with the correct tense."Suzanne hasn't seen him since 2013.'' -- This sentence does not make entirely clear whether Suzanne is seeing him now or not. In the first case it ought to be "Suzanne ne l'a pas vue depuis 2013", whereas in the latter it would be "Suzanne ne le voit pas depuis 2013", right? -- Chris.

When would you use the masculine form of a pronoun for a feminine nounwould you use pronouns ending in 'n' (mon, ton, son) for nouns that begin with vowel or silent h? In doing a recent quiz for the noun 'petite amie' a 'sa' was used... should son have been used instead?

What about for indoor temperature?If "Il fait chaud" is only for outside, how would you say, "It is hot" when indoors, meaning the temperature of the room you are in?
