Translation question

In a test the sentence "Nous étions toujours ensemble à cette époque." was translated as

We were still together at that time.  Does "toujours" mean "still?"  Or should the translation be We were always together at that time.  ?

He has a lot of powerful friends. 

Il a beaucoup d'amis puissants. 

Is it correct to place puissant after the noun in this sentence? In which case puissant will precede noun?

Nous/on"et nous, on fera tout ce qui nous plaît" was a sentence from a writing challenge. Is it common to hop back and forth between nous and on like this?

Why not use t' instead of tu?

If je converts into j' in certain words such as j'aime and j'habite because of the vowels and silent h, then why doesn't nous become nous' in the same words like nous'aime as 'aime' also starts with vowel 'a' before them?

Sometimes the "t" of "est" is pronounced and sometimes it isn't. Can we choose whether to liaise or not when using this phrase?

Reliable Online Full-Text Translation

Hello All,

This is a general query and not to do with Kwizbot particularly.  I've just this morning begun to write a daily journal in French and wish to check it's English translation.  I just used a well-known site, R*****o  (just in case one cannot name names) and was very disappointed in the translations. For example, 'petit-dejeuner' resulted in 'little-lunch' instead of 'breakfast' :-(  And if I had taken it any further? I shudder to think!

To my question: does anyone know of a reliable service that can deal with large tracts of text?

I have just signed up to learn French from scratch, but...

After taking the initial test, naturally, my level is entry level. However, the suggested lessons consist of things I have no idea about. I don't even know the French pronouns to begin with! How is it suggesting things like using La, Le, etc. 

I'm not very encouraged to upgrade the plan if that's the case. 

Would you mind clarifying this issue?
