Someone loves xxx versus someone likes xxxSalut! Je me demande si on doit utiliser "bien" avec "aimer" pour signifier "love" vs "like" If you want to say someone loves something, as opposed to liking it, do you add "bien"? : Il aime bien sa copine. He loves his girlfriend. Il aime tes chaussures. He likes your shoes. I thought I remembered this distinction, but I'd appreciate someone discussing this! Thanks, Karla B

please explain when to use ennuyant and ennuyeux or ennuyeuse

sometimes I'm told it means boring, sometimes annoying, quite confusing, as i cant make out which is which.

Le vase versus la vase

Why not include the meanings of "vase" as they change according to gender? La vase is mud, whereas le vase is a vase.

Use of etre + descendre/monter in the passe composeI know that you use etre + ascendre or descendre or monter in the passe compose when the verb is followed by a preposition, but I am still slightly confused, with certain situations. For example, I got on.... would be "Je suis monte sur...", But "I mounted.... would be "J'ai monte...." You could say "I mounted the bus." or "I got on the bus." Could you use either, saying "Je suis monte sur le bus." OR J'ai monte le bus?" Is "to go upstairs" "monter l'escalier" or "aller en haut" I have the same problems with descendre. For example, how do you say "I went downstairs"? Forgive the lack of accents. Your advice sheet doesn't work on my computer. Beverley

Gender of droit in directions

I noticed in the exercise "droite" was used for direction to the right, but "tout droit" is masculine for "straight ahead. Why the difference?

De vs Du Sel"Il s'est passé de sel." Why "de sel" and not "du sel"? There's an inherent negation utilized by figuratively "going without" but not formal/grammatic negation via "ne...pas."
