I had the same problem that Kathleen had even after I listened to it a number of times. Of course, once I saw the correct version, it was wonderfully clear!
One possible translation heer is given as "Est-ce que l'on peut aller prendre un café? "
Is the "le" at all related to the café as direct object? Could you explain/provide examples of other uses of "l'on" in such contexts? Merci en avance!
Could someone please enlighten me as why 'son' is used in this sentence. If the sentence was, 'We suffer from THEIR lack of attention', then, son is replaced by leur. What is the grammatical basis for this structure?
Hello,
When working with negation what is the easiest way to remember when to keep the indefinite article and not the definite article?
Example: can we do like I do not like meat nor fish since you can have some of the meat and some of the fish they would not keep the indefinite article correct?
Thanks
Nicole
Slightly better, but still "no cigar" -- Some of the problems are vocabulary, but others are apparently confusion re: the verbs - which tense is appropriate - and when to use "on" instead of "nous"
I am really confused with this point. In this exercise , the pronunciation of "dix mois" sounds like "diss mois" with the x clearly pronounced (same happens in Google translate), but I thought that the final consonant of 5, 6, 8 and 10 was not pronounced before a word starting with a consonant? (e.g. it should sound like "di mois"). Is the pronunciation of the final consonant in those numbers (5, 6, 8 and 10) optional before consonants? (That would be fine by me). Or is it different in various cases? Or regional differences? Thanks
Hi there, I was wondering if you could explain the present tense in the following sentence:
Mais c'était avant qu'ils ne reçoivent plus de 15 millions de paquets de la part des 26.000 buralistes de France...
Why is "reçoivent" in present (subjunctive)?
Thanks!
hi. I´m looking for friends
