Bad English leaves no French translating

this sentence is not correct grammar. no one says "is it your book?" you are supposed to say, "IS THIS your book" also the response says, "No, it's my brother's one" I have never heard that in my life. If I said that, people would correct me. The proper response is "No, it is my brother's" or add the word book. However, the fact that the object was mentioned, needs not repeating.
