I wrote préférerais, but it was corrected to préfèrerais. I looked up the dictionaries, and the former is given a s correct.

I struggle with when to use the imparfait. Why in the quizlet question "In 2004 I had money" was the correct answer "j'avais" rather than j'ai eu? It seems like this is a completed action in the past, not on-going? I get so confused...help!

Just curious about Mathieu being 'in a team'. Is that how the french describe team membership? In US we say, 'on a team'.

La liberté d'expression est un droit fondamental mais il faut ________respecter les limites.
To me, this is saying that we should be respecting the limits of “freedom of expression,” not the limits “of expression.” So shouldn’t the correct pronoun be “la” to reference “la liberté d'expression”? Thanks for helping me to understand this.

I tried to conjugate Tu écoutes. But it says it is wrong and the correct answer is Tu ècoutes.
Does it really change accent? I searched it in other sites and tu écoutes is right.
In the question Aurélie mange ___________ , with the translation Aurélie eats bread, the answer Aurélie mange le pain is marked as wrong in favour of Aurélie mange du pain. But surely Aurélie mange du pain means Aurélie is eating some bread, and Aurélie eats bread means that she eats bread in general, so should therefore be translated as Aurélie mange le pain.
