There is really no explanation of how to distinguish when to use these properly.

1. Can I say: J'ai peur que je ne puisse pas m'expliquer MOI-MÊME, 

as an equivalent expression for: J'ai bien peur de ne pas pouvoir m'expliquer MOI-MÊME, 

2. I understand the importance of the purpose of impersonal DOP "le" here: Non, ce ne l'est pas

By the same logic, shouldn't we say:  "Non, je ne le vois pas," instead of "Non, je ne vois pas,"

Why has "subjonctif" been used in the last part of the sentence? Is it possible to have a complete list of cases when it is an absolute must to use the subjunctive mood? Thanks

Can I use se rendre compte in this context?

1. Puis-je écrire « où » au lieu de « quand » ici ?

2. Est-ce qu'il y a une règle qui nous permet de déterminer quelles expressions anglaises contenant « with » se traduiraient par « de » en français ?

regarding sentir: I have no idea what the difference would be between: "I smell smoke." vs "I smell of smoke" (because I just stoked the wood stove, for example).

What do the French consider to be a billion? 100,000,000 or 1,000,000,000? 

How can that marking - 0/75 - nbe correct when I get lots of the answers correct?

How can I determine if I can use the historical past to describe a past event? Does it work effectively for both l'imparfait and le passé composé? For example, to convey the following sentence in French: I was working when the phone rang.

Normally, I would say: La telephone a sonne quand je travaillais

But with a historic past, can I say: La telephone sonna quand je travaillai.

In one of the questions in my former test I shold translate ” your name is Thomas”. So I did ” tu t`apelles Thomas”, but got red mark on that, it should be ”tot`apelles Thomas”. I can´t see that alternative in the lesson about how to sat someones name. Would be good with an explanation on that one.
