I was marked wrong for selecting "Il est deux heures" as one of the choices for "It is 2 p.m."
I'm with Nicole, and sad to see she didn't receive any feed back. I've got the same wrong answer. I don't know whether it's actually incorrect, or whether the text in the lesson needs a rework. The text says: "The fact is that, when there's no risk of confusion between AM and PM, French people use both 12-hour and 24-hour clocks interchangeably:"
If someone's asking what time it is, it doesn't seem likely that answering "Il est deux heures" is going to create confusion between 2 a.m. and 2 p.m.
I think whether there will be confusion depends on the context. But as the question is in the lesson, I there isn't enough context to say your answer is right or wrong.
Bonjour à tous,
This lesson has been reworked and the questions from the kwiz have been updated to include a hint as to which "clock" (12 hr clock or 24hr clock) to use when necessary. We hope it clarifies any ambiguity from these lessons/questions regarding AM vs PM, 12 vs 24 hour clock :).
We hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !
