In answer to one of the questions posed here, it’s been stated that the question mark was removed because, otherwise, the answer would be obvious. Just to clarify, does that mean that in normal written French the question mark *would* appear? Thanks for any response.

The answer is yes, there would be a question mark after the inversion in written text.
