Interesting to read but I'm getting a bit stuck on "l'on" as in "il ne faut pas que l'on nous voie".  Why is the "l' " necessary? What does it refer to?

This suggests Martin is still here, thus the present tense should be used. Given answer is-Martin n'est pas arrivé depuis longtemps.

Compare this with the previous question:

We haven't lived here very long- Nous n'habitons pas ici depuis longtemps.

Have I mis-understood something?

Can someone please explain what this means? Although I have known French for decades, it really didn't seem to make any sense. To be honest, I am very surprised this is level A1, as even I struggled with it and I got really confused when trying to complete the dictation, especially with this sentence.

il se maquille - he is making himself up; il se fait maquiller - he is having his make up done - is this right?

What about feeling worse - would that be se sentir plus mal? Is there a reason it’s not included?

While the lesson is clear that the le passé composé is used here to use depuis for negation, I'm not sure how to ask the question that leads to this response: 

For example: When was the last time you your mother saw you? 

- Is it: Quelle était la dèrniere fois/Depuis quand ta mere t'a vu/te vois?

In either the case the answer would be in passé composé: for instance: Elle ne m'a pas vu depuis longtemps

Can you say "on avait décidé de se réunir après le travail"?

Also, why is it "emmené dans un bar" instead of "emmené à un bar"?
