"LUI" parce que les termes seraient imposés au maréchal Pétain. ou
"Y" parce que les termes seraient imposés à la France. (...la France accepterait les termes que le Chancelier allemand Adolf Hitler y imposerait.)
"He's thinking of his holidays. He's thinking of it."
Can I suggest that "He's thinking of his holidays. He's thinking of them." would be better?

Ok, I should have heard the "la" but I didn't - and I put "le mi-août" because août is masculine. Is it, then, the case that if you use the prefix "mi-" the whole thing ( "mi-qqch") invariably becomes feminine?
Is féerique a possibility in the last line?

Why is it 'Elle me rappelle Paula' rather than 'elle rappelle Paula à moi' ?
In the sentence , doesn't sound like it starts with a . I listen to that over and over again and I just couldn't hear . Does anyone else get that problem?
Could someone explain the rule for describing who someone is; i.e. why does 'she is my wife' translate as c'est ma femme? - "it is my wife'!
