Why peut-etre que?I am doing an exercise called "My post-university plans." I am asked to translate from English to French "Maybe I'll be able to spend some time ...." I wrote "Peut-etre je pourrai passer les temps..." The answer was "Peut-etre que je pourrai..." My question is why the "que" after peut-etre? Thank you.

Rule for Nouns beginning with H

Please confirm. The masculine forms bel, nouvel and vieil are used before a noun that begins with a VOWEL. This rule does not apply to a noun that begins with an H? Par exemple: Regarde ces vieux hommes. Merci.

I would like to know if it is correct...I wrote a quotation in English and now I translated it in French. It's something like that: ( Dans le grand schéma de l'univers, ni vous ni un millier d'autres gens n'aurez un jour de l'importance. Nous ne sommes qu'un infime grain de sable dans une immensité que l'on ne peut même pas imaginer. En acceptant cela, le seul sens que votre vie, ou n'importe quelle autre vie, peut avoir dans une telle immensité est le sens que vous la donnez. Rêvez en grand, amusez-vous, et surtout soyez honnête et soyez heureux. ) In English: ( In the grand scheme of the universe, nothing you or one thousand other people do will ever begin to remotely matter. We are nothing but an infinitesimal speck on a scale we cannot even begin to fathom. Accepting that, the only meaning that your life, or any life, can have on such a scale is the meaning for which you give it. Dream big, live fun, and most importantly be honest and be happy. ) I would like to know if I have translated my quotation correctly in French. Thank you in advance! a été réveillé vs était réveillé

In filling in the blank for Bob __ par la reveil tous les jours (Bob was awaken by the alarm every day), I typed "a été réveillé par" instead of "était réveillé". Could you help me understand why the imparfait was incorrect? Thanks!

I like my car. I like theirs too.This is a question of when does something become plural. In the question of how do we translate "I like my car. I like theirs too." or "J'aime ma voiture. J'aime ________ aussi." My car is definitely singular, however, why is the answer "la leur" when we are talking about comparing more than one car, maybe. The sentence alone doesn't say how many are in "THEIR" group, we could be talking about a couple, or a much larger group, it's not clear in the context.
