Usage of à vs de.
The lecture above says this:
Note that you use à when describing going to or being in a city. And you use de to indicate being, coming or returning from a city.
I'm confused. I thought we use à to say we are in a city. Why is it also used in "de"?
« Elle se maria » [cette année-là] I don’t recognise the conjugation of se marier?
I saw "paraître" followed by the past participle and not the infinitive in A Day In The Countryside.
"qui paraissaient occupés" was the answer while I had offered "qui paraissaient s'occuper"
Can you advise ?
I am struggling to work out what the "en" refers to. I presume it is "of something", but can't work out what (or where the "of" comes from) - the sentence seems to work equally well without it.
Hi there - this topic is giving me the biggest trouble. Crafting questions!
Is there any advice or guidance or on how to approach this? I cannot seem to connect with this at all. Thanks!
Hello,
I had this kwiziq question: Catherine ________ à l'hôtel ce soir. (Catherine is sleeping at the hotel tonight.)
I put the answer for the blank as "est en train de dort", but instead the answer is only "dort". I thought that "dort" would = he/she sleeps (not he/she is sleeping)
I thought that dormir = (to) sleep; être en train de dormir = sleeping.
Thanks for the help!
If there are multiple adjectives after c’est, do they gender match the subject?
Hello, is there a way to mark exercises in some way so you could query the marked list, just like we can do with Notebooks for lessons? I have some dictees and writing exercises to which I want to return, but I don't know how to do that other than writing the names down. If not, it would be a really nice feature to add.
I have been given that words ending in "ion" were female with the exception of "Bastion". Is this another exception ? Should it be Sa opinion or sa opinion, or is it that the word begins with a vowel ?
