Why in this sentence 'francaise' is omitted? The English text does contain the adjective 'French', that is to say

Pour moi, la meilleure joueuse de tennis française sera toujours Amélie Mauresmo.

I answered “à moins qu’elle ait fermée.”

The correction used être to conjugate fermer into the past tense.  Why?

It really sounds to me that the speaker is saying ``Sophie, au va....`` I know it doesn`t make sense but it really sounds like that`s what he`s saying. Can you please check?

1. Can I say: J'ai peur que je ne puisse pas m'expliquer MOI-MÊME, 

as an equivalent expression for: J'ai bien peur de ne pas pouvoir m'expliquer MOI-MÊME, 

2. I understand the importance of the purpose of impersonal DOP "le" here: Non, ce ne l'est pas

By the same logic, shouldn't we say:  "Non, je ne le vois pas," instead of "Non, je ne vois pas,"

2. les générations futures ne connaîtront jamais la riche biodiversité de nos océans.

In the above two sentences, is there any reason why riche and graves go before the nouns they qualify?  

If you drop the "s" from all "er" verbs when using the singular imperative, why does "ajoutes-y" have an "s" ?

Plus généreux nous sommes, plus les gens nous le rendront. (Plus modifies the adj.+verb).

The more generous we are, the more people will give back to us.

Plus il est un homme riche, plus je suis un homme pauvre. (plus modifies the verbs)

Plus riche un homme il est, plus pauvre un homme je suis. (plus modifies the adjs.)

(My humble thought; the second sentences are okay with me. yes/no? Explanation)
