Encore vs ToujoursDear Aurelie, Why is "you must still know" "Il faut encore connaitre" and not "Il faut toujours connaitre" ? I thought that toujours worked better for still. could toujours be used? Thank you, Leah

"Tu joues de la trompette ---> Tu en joues"Mais je crois que cette exemple n'est pas correcte: "Tu joues de la trompette ---> Tu en joues". Il vaut mieux "Tu joues à la trompette ---> Tu y joues", n'est-ce pas ?

I think that "I Ate" is past tense of the verb to eat.

In both cases when mentioning the day of the week, they used an article, but the lesson states that when speaking of a specific day, one does not useThe article.

I've always been confused by this: "j'aurai du" translates as "I should have" and not as "I will have had to...." but these are not quite the same, I think. "I will have had to catch the 22 bus" suggests that I did catch that particular bus, to achieve whatever, whereas "I should have" suggests that I didn't catch that bus, and perhaps failed in my intention. Similarly for "j'aurai pu" - "I could have" not "I will have been able".

Any advice/explanation appreciated!

Le chat, auquel tu as fait peur, s'est caché sous le lit.I notice in the above examples, that the sentence talking about a cat is only translated using auquel. Is 'à qui' not applicable here? Is a cat not treated as a living thing in this instance? Thanks for your help!
