I tried and tested with some of the AI tools like chatgpt and gemini to confirm if the given long text is for A1 level but they both said it's above a2/b1 level due to vocabulary, synonyms and complex sentence structure. I tested becauase even i felt quite hard to grasp the meaning of most words and sentences.
"Elle prendra l'avion à New York, puis fera une escale à Paris avant de prendre un autre vol pour Montpellier."
Why is it "prendra l'avion à New York" but "pour" for "prendre un autre vol pour Montpellier"? Is there a reason it can't be "à Montpellier"?
Does skipping a question hurt my score?
Also, I've tried hitting the testing button within a notebook and within the brain map, but that grammer point is usually not covered in that quiz. How do I focus a quiz for improving a score in a specific area.
I was asked to fill in the blank for the sentence, "After he said that, he left," where the conjugation of dire was missing. I had been asked so much lately about passé simple that I used simply dit, when a dit was expected. I was marked wrong for that.
But isn't it also correct, although unexpected? Or is it just that a native speaker would never do that for such a simple sentence, so it should be discouraged?
Plus nous sommes généreux, plus les gens nous le rendront. (Plus modifies the verb)
Plus généreux nous sommes, plus les gens nous le rendront. (Plus modifies the adj.+verb).
The more generous we are, the more people will give back to us.
Plus il est un homme riche, plus je suis un homme pauvre. (plus modifies the verbs)
Plus riche un homme il est, plus pauvre un homme je suis. (plus modifies the adjs.)
(My humble thought; the second sentences are okay with me. yes/no? Explanation)
(The second sentences are similar to American) Thanks
Would it also be correct to say "il vous faut absolument aller..."?
1. Can I say: J'ai peur que je ne puisse pas m'expliquer MOI-MÊME,
as an equivalent expression for: J'ai bien peur de ne pas pouvoir m'expliquer MOI-MÊME,
2. I understand the importance of the purpose of impersonal DOP "le" here: Non, ce ne l'est pas
By the same logic, shouldn't we say: "Non, je ne le vois pas," instead of "Non, je ne vois pas,"
Thank you!
this is an incredibly fascinating look at this man's life.
Pourquoi est-ce que de utilise dans cette phrase--de lui parler--et pas à? Parler à lui ou parler de lui?
Re "Je ____ reviens aussi". I was taught that when it's a question of "place" you use "y". So, "J'y reviens aussi.," J'en reviens" sounds really weird to my ears. "J'en ai eu assez" sounds fine..... Can you explain please?
