Hi Aurélie
I was doing an exercise which has this question:
La valise qu'il ( est descendue, a descendue, a descendu) du grenier hier est neuve.
What will be the correct answer? As my understanding says intransitive verbs take être as auxillary but the answer given is a descendue ( why the accord?)
In writing challenge "Problems at the hotel" - Quel est le problème?
I wrote "Qu'est-ce qui est le problème? - can this be correct as well?
Please if you can help me out to understand where to put de+infinitive. I am so confused.
Par example- laissez-moi de penser pourquoi de ici ?
C’est mon rêve de travailler à l’étranger. Why I putted de here I can simply write c’est mon rêve travailler.
Et je sais que je dois pratiquer. Why here it’s not de after pratiquer?
Please if you can share me the lesson of this I have tried to search a lot but I am not able to understand properly where to put de+infinitive and where not.
Thank You :)
Recently I came across " Qu'est-ce qui ce passe ?" and was informed it was a standard expression in French. I would like to know more about this expression (and any other related ones). A search of Kwiziq failed to come up with it. Merci d'avance, Andrea
The question was:
Et vous ________ à une soirée.And you met each other at a party.HINT: rencontrer = to meet
The answer given was vous vous êtes rencontrés however is vous vous êtes rencontrées not also a possible answer?
Is there a general rule in French about when to spell out numbers? For example in american english I think the rule is to spell out numbers ten or less and just use the number when greater than ten (eg, 12 instead of twelve). Thanks!
