Confusion with ne...pas.Confusion with ne....pas. First I thought always de after ne... pas. Then I read there is an exception when être is used. Use un/une. What is happening then in this example?Les filles jouent au foot? Non, elles ne jouent pas au foot. Is there a lesson that explains all the options?

Prevoir vs Organiser/planifier

Why "prevoir" for "nous avons prévu d'aller..." instead of "nous avons organisé (or planifié)?

I understand "prevoir " to mean "foresee" , but if she made plans then it would seem to me organisé or planifié would be more accurate. Thanks.

Refering to ideas with en/y/leAs far as I understand, when refering to a phrase without repeating it, one uses "en" if it begins with "de", "y" if it begins with "à" and le/la/les otherwise. This rule failed me on the latest B1 writing challenge: "One day, I'm sure [of it]," -> "Un jour, je le/y/en suis certain," (I haven't even seen the phrase that le/y/en refers to yet, so how can I chose?). "the dead will come back to life" -> "les morts reviendront à vie". Ok, now we know what to be sure of: "Un jour, les morts reviendront à vie". That doesn't start with either à or de, so I guessed that "le" was the word to use in the first sentence, but the answer says "en", and I'm confused.

Why do you not add an s to retourné when you say - vous y êtes retourné?I thought that when you use être the pp always agrees with the subject.

Why use "c'était" when referring to the TGV?

It seems it should be "il était" because you are referring specifically to the TGV, and not trains generally.

two questionswhy "la Saint-Patrick" and not "le jour de Saint-Patrick?" Saint Patrick is masculine as is "jour" however in the answer it is feminine. And could "feter" be used instead of "celebrer" Thank you Christine Clegg
