aimer vs aimer beaucoup

Why does 'I love to dance' translate as J'aime beaucoup', whereas 'I love to shine' is simply 'J'aime'? How do we know when the speaker really likes something when its only implied? I have seen the unspoken 'beaucoup' in other exersizes as well.

Q.Should I understand that "à" and "de" can be applied to all the verbs depending if you are going to or coming from somewhere or is it so that each verb goes only with one of these prepositions?

Revision KwizzesI really like the format of the site and how you see progress through tests. However I am concerned that stuff that I have learnt earlier in a section is not going to stay with me for ever. Does the site and the lessons presented cater in any way for revising and reinforcing previously learnt sections? Thanks, Richard.

Why use "c'était" when referring to the TGV?

It seems it should be "il était" because you are referring specifically to the TGV, and not trains generally.

Le disque jaune - The amber light?

I don't understand how the example "Le disque jaune" can mean "The amber light". Jaune=yellow, so I accept it can also mean amber. But how can disque mean light, doesn't it normally mean disc? This can however be a thing i haven't learned in English, as neither English nor French is my native language.
