Confusion with ne...pas.Confusion with ne....pas. First I thought always de after ne... pas. Then I read there is an exception when être is used. Use un/une. What is happening then in this example?Les filles jouent au foot? Non, elles ne jouent pas au foot. Is there a lesson that explains all the options?

ClarityI think that your examples might be clearer if you divided them into three parts groups than two: 1.Supplemental Group Do you have /another/some other/ idea(s) (as well)? 2.Different Group I would like to try /a different/some other/ jumper(s) (in stead). 3.Desciptive He speaks about France and /about other/ countries. Why doesn't des become de when using ne...que?

If ne ... que is a negative construction, why doesn't the rule of partitive articles in negative sentences apply?

E.g. why is it
Il ne mange que des pâtes le samedi

and not
Il ne mange que de pâtes le samedi

The lesson is fine - it is the answers to kwizzes where there is a discrepancy,I think. An omitted ‘de’ is marked correct.
