aussie bien que

The use of "aussi bien que" puzzles me. Wouldn't "ainsi que" be the correct usage in this context such as:

L'Angleterre, ainsi que la France, a combattu l'Allemagne en 1914.England, as well as France, fought Germany in 1914.
In contrast, "aussi bien que", means a comparison of abilities such as:
L'Angleterre a combattu l'Allemagne aussi bien que la France en 1914.England fought Germany as well as (as efficiently as) France in 1914.

request more clarification on idiomatic example phrase

This is a sample sentence from this lesson:

J'ai de plus en plus de mal à me concentrer.

I understand the more and more part. As a student, without the translation, I would not have come up with I'm struggling more and more to focus. I was seeing this as ... I have (more and more) pain myself to concentrate. Is there a lesson on avoir mal a that talks about struggling? If so J'ai de plus en plus de mal avec cette example! :)

The French don't drink "pintes" because they don't use the imperial system. They drink "chopes". Une chope de bière.

Ses yeux vs. les yeuxI have trained myself to use les yeux, les bras, etc. when referring to body parts. So why ses yeux in this context? As you can see, this exercise precipitated lots of questions from me. I really appreciate that you do these for us and they certainly generate a lot of thinking about word usage. Thanks for the challenge!

verb tense

'que les gens me donnent' - was the answer for 'have been giving me'. I thought that the French here meant (in your answer) - 'that the people 'are' giving me'.

Telling time in French - simple

I do not understand why the expression correctly reads dix heures vingt-trois instead of more simply dix heures vingt trois? In other words what is the rule for adding a hypen in this expression. I did not see this need to add hyphen mentioned in the lesson.
