Hi. Is there a mistake when you translate the sentence 'Yann passera par chez Laura après le travail' as 'Yann will pop by Laura' s place after work.' and not
' Yann will pass by Laura's place after work. ' as it should translate. Omitting the' par' will mean 'pop by',.
Please correct this as the many uses of passer / se passer / passer devant, par/ are confusing enough without this mistake. Pekka J
Since the lesson title includes (+ avoir ), the reference to se méprendre + auxiliary verb être , would be very helpful.
I have several questions about word choices I made that were crossed out as though incorrect, so I need to understand why my choices were wrong.
I used « En général » instead of « D’habitude »
I used « je n’ai pas envie de courir » instead of « je n’aime pas courir »
I used « passionnant » instead of « excitant »
I used « ils ne touchent plus la terre » instead of « ils ne touchent plus par terre » or « ils ne touchent plus le sol »
I used « soudainement » instead of « soudain »
Were my choices incorrect, or were they just not one of several sentence constructions that could have been made? It is hard to benefit from these exercises if you don’t know!!
Thank you!
What is mean by 'gourde de limonade'?
Could you please explain the reason for the inversion of the negative "ne...rien" in this sentence? Thank you.
Why do you say 'Il a des yeux bleu clair' but 'la tenue est bleu marine', and not bleu marin?
Il est vingt-deux heures = 10 PM
Il est vingt heures deux = 8:02 PM
Just making sure.
Can we use instead of il y a + duration, Avant+ duration?
"Aussi+adverb que+ Subjonctif" is it gramatically correct or not?
I know I can use "Aussi+adjective que+ Subjonctif" But I am curious about using this form with adverbs
For example:Aussi vite qu'elle coure, jamais elle ne me rattapera=no matter how fast she runs she will not catch me?
