Il y avait une opposition considérable à la construction de la tour. De nombreux artistes et écrivains étaient contre le projet mais la popularité de la tour et de l'exposition a fait taire les objections.
I am a little unclear as to what the definition of Indirect Speech is especially as it applies to the examples given in the lesson and in the use of verbs such as, 'se demander' and 'savoir'.
How is this Indirect Speech:
Je me demande si tu viens ou pas. ?
What I do understand is that in cases where 'whether = if', then 'si + Mode Indicatif' is applied.
The way I usually work it out in my mind is if the sentence is expressing the idea of 'regardless of which' or 'whether or not' than 'Que + Le Subjunctif' is used.
2. Ce dessert économique est fait 'de farine', 'de lait', 'de beurre' et 'de cassonade' (et ici, pourqoui pas 'de la farine', 'du beurre' et 'de la cassonade'?)

In this case, the answer is "y" because of the contraction (à+le) in the sentence?
Surely the suggested (in the final translation) is lacking in the latter part of the sentence. Shouldn't there be "quelque chose que vous aimez" added? How is this inferred?
Bonjour. Why is it "début septembre" and not "au début de septembre"?
I would suggest that this exercise be set at a higher level. I don't believe this is pegged right for an A1 learner. Perhaps A2 would be better.

Is this an idiomatic exclamation? I don't see what the 'que' is doing grammatically.
