Qu'est-ce que c'est qu'un stylo vs Qu'est-ce que c'est un styloThe examples give both the options for un stylo but the Kwiz I just did only accepts Qu'est-ce que c'est qu'un gendarme, and Qu'est-ce que c'est un gendarme is marked wrong. Is there something different between un gendarme and un stylo that mandates using Qu'est-ce que c'est qu'?

How to say famous in French: It's OK to say" célèbre Cité du Vin", but not "célèbre Fontaine des 3 Grâces" -- only "fameuse" is correct there. Why?

hi, 

I took the test and i understand that Switzerland is feminine but why is there a masculine pronoun ils at the beginning? ils detesent la suisse. Shouldn't it be elles not ils?
