Is it alright to use "Pourrais-je vous offrir une boisson chaude gratuite en attendant ?" What would be the difference in using pourrais and puis, if any? Thank you.
I'm guessing example 1 uses the imparfait since it's a "continuing action", but isn't example 2 also a "continuing action" even with the fullstop separating the two?
I am looking at this sentence - 'la procédure d'adoption s'est avérée encore plus éprouvante que nous l'avions envisagé' - and wondering why 'envisagé' doesn't agree with the 'l' that comes before it - assuming that pronoun is feminine because it refers back to 'la procédure'...?

That example doesn't make sense to me, if they are referring to the duration of time they spent in Spain, then why use an instead of année ? Even without the need of emphasizing the amount of time they spent in Spain, wouldn't the usage of année be required anyways due to the rule stating that you should use it when considering the amount of time in it's duration ?
