The word "toujours" is confusing here. Why doesn't Bastien respond in the imperfect to express his habitual actions and say "je faisais toujours comme ça" instead of saying "j'ai toujours fait comme ça..."? He has "always" left his clothes on the floor and still intends to do so. Shouldn't this scenario be expressed by the imperfect? Thanks for any help.
This was supposed to have been corrected ONE YEAR AGO, but the error still persists!
This question has been asked in one of the tests where there was a blank given for "de" and expected to be filled with an article contracté. Is "de" indeed an article contracté here? I'm doubtful.
The question: "I'll stay until you come back."
Answer: "Je resterai jusqu'à ce que tu reviennes."
I have given the correct answer 4 consecutive times but my answer is always recorded as: "Je resterai jusqu'à tu reviennes." This is NOT what I'm typing, but the answer repeated tells me that that's what I wrote and thus the question is repeated on every test!
If je converts into j' in certain words such as j'aime and j'habite because of the vowels and silent h, then why doesn't nous become nous' in the same words like nous'aime as 'aime' also starts with vowel 'a' before them?
Would it be possible to state that in writing structure, Spanish-French is more closely than English_French?
What does "durant" mean exactly in this sentence? Why would it not be "durantes"?
One of the translations in the quiz was 'Everybody wants to do their best'. This may be in common usage now but correctly, I think, it should be 'his/her' best. Here 'everybody' is singular hence the singular verb 'wants', so the pronoun needs to correspond to the noun as well as the verb.
Bonjour
In the video we have J'ai recu les lettres. Why then do we say Je les ai recues. ? Recevoir is is a verbe d'etat?
Merci
Bonjour ! J'apprécie vraiment tous l'information sur ce site. Cependant, j'ai remarqué que le discours indirect manque parmi les leçons. Sera-t-il ajouté bientôt ?
