You hinted I should use ‘he would study’. I used ‘il étudierait’ but you translated: il allait étudier. Why?
If "prendre" means "to take", could I also use this in a sentence to signify that someone is "stealing" or even physically grabbing something?
I just wanted to offer that it helps me to remember the correct use of this verb if I think about it in this way.
"Je lui manque" = "I am missed by her/him." -> (ie. S/he misses me.)
"Nous manquons à Pat." = " We are missed by Pat." (ie. Pat misses us.)
This method helps me to remember 1) the order of the sentence, 2) the subject to use to conjugate the verb, and 3) that there is an indirect object (by, à) so you have to use an indirect pronoun (or à if using a noun).
Hi,
Can we please get some more varied examples using "le" and "la" in addition to the existing examples using "les" and "l'".
Merci beaucoup
Why is there no "en" or "à" in this sentence ?
Bonjour à tous et à toutes
Est-ce que quelqu'un peut me dire quelle est la différence entre les deux phrases suivantes svp:
Martin aime bien Sarah
Sarah plaît à Martin
I'm sure there must be some subtle difference!
Merci,
Nick
Earlier in the sentence, I understand why it's "de délicates pâquerettes blanches" instead of "des" (because the adj precedes the noun and that causes the plural partitive/indefinite article to change from des to de) but I don't understand why that's been done to the tulips too.
How many feminine countries do we have
Hello,
I have a question. I am working on this sentence. Elle menace de partir for the present tense.
I was wondering why they use de partir instead of à meaning to leave.
Thanks
Nicole
