Past participle

Hi,

I was wrong when choosing “ tombée” in “ Marie- France est ( tomber) de son vélo”. I agreeed the gender of subject( in this case, I think it ‘s feminin) as “learn and discuss says. Why? Is it that the subject here falls sthg ,not the subject falls. And past participle has to follow the gender and number of object in this case? Thanks.

Run-on sentences

Bonjour Cécile,

In the first A1 Listening Practice exercise, Liz asked whether run-on sentences are acceptable in French. Michael explained what they are. You asked Liz for an example, which wasn't given there.

The 4th and 7th sentences in this exercise are good examples.

I have seen so many of them throughout the exercises that I can only conclude they must be acceptable in French.

Still, confirmation of that fact would be welcome.

L'imparfait ou le subjonctif> elle ne s'attendait pas à ce qu'elle était sur le point de découvrir !

Doesn't "s'attendre à ce que" take the subjunctive? Or is there an exception in this case that wasn't noted in the lesson? Attendre quelqu'un vs s'attendre à quelque chose = to wait vs to expect in French

“lorsqu’on lui rendre visite” vs. “lorsque l’on lui rendre visite”

Hi, there are two options given: “lorsqu’on lui rendre visite” & “lorsque l’on lui rendre visite”. Is the extra “l” in the second one just to avoid the “qu’on” sound, or is it a pronoun with some grammatical meaning?

English Tenses

I'll be right there in English is actually the use of the future continuous tense, as is I'll be there in two seconds. I'll is a contraction of I WILL.
Not a good example for using the present tense in English.
English teacher speaking here.

Why is this answer marked as incorrect

The question was : Vous ________ arriver d'ici là.

You will have been able to get there by then.Why was my answer which was, "auriez pu y", marked as wrong?
