Bonjour mes amis! Je m'appele Parsa et je viens de Leiden. C'est une ville des Pays-Bas. J'aime la ville.
Can we say nous étions censés .... instead of nous devions arriver....?
Je pense que j'entends "fière" au lieu de "fier", mais je suis un peu sourd. J'ai raison ou non?
I was taught that, in addition to "Elle croit que c'est une mauvaise blague," "She (thinks it/ believes it to be) a bad joke" can also be written "Elle croit à une mauvaise blague." A visit to context.reverso seems to bear this out, whereas this lesson says that "que" is always required. Is this lesson perhaps missing a note of exception, or am I misinformed?
Lis-tu des romans de temps en temps ?

Note that de becomes du / de la / de l' / des depending on the gender and number of the noun following it (e.g. of the).
Although Chris has offered good explanations in this Q&A forum - it should be in the lesson itself - Can you please add the variation.
In the phrase, "...il faut défendre ses opinions", why do the French use 'ses'? I would have expected 'vos', i.e. it is necessary to defende YOUR opinions. Is it simply the way the French express this allusion to others?
Ce jour la , il (faire) froid

I have put a few difficult lessons in my notebook, but I've rarely tested them. I now see that as a premium member I can have multiple notebooks, but I'm not sure of the benefit. So I'd like to know from users: how do you make use of notebooks in your studies? Do you find it useful to use multiple notebooks? If so, how do you divide your notebooks?
