1) It seems 'autre' only agrees in number, as seen in the examples. If there is a situation where there's agreement in gender could you please provide an example?
2) In the example of Maxime being hyperactive, should it be: Elle est hyperactive (F)?
Un ami m'a écrit que quand on utilise l'expression "bien à vous" à la fin d'un email ça n'est pas écrit par une femme à un homme. On dit "Une femme n'écrit pas "'bien à vous" a un homme, une femme n'envoie pas ses "sentiments" à un homme." Qu'en pensez-vous ? Quelle est la règle grammaticale appropriée ?
This one was confusing because in the placement quiz they ask you to translate "I am hungry", but then mark it wrong when you select "Je suis...". Then they say the correct translation is "J'ai faim". This is problematic because "J'ai faim" literally means "I have hunger". They need to be accurate with the literal translations in these cases because that's what clues you in to how you should word the phrase.
I’ve seen both answers given in the space of half a hour. Does it depend on context or is this a mistake? Or am I mistaken? Merci.
In 1969, we went to conquer the moon. I wrote on est allés but was marked wrong for not using parti when another lesson used on est allés for “we went” so I’m confused and the lesson is about agreement with on. Doesn’t explain why parti is right and allés is wrong. Also, I don’t get email notifications so don’t see any answers to questions unless I happen to run across it elsewhere. Help! Thanks.
