It's time for your weekend writing challenges, but this week we are thrilled to announce that long-awaited dictées are part of the mix too! We love getting your feedback so please do get in touch about both the functionality and content - what's good, what's bad, what could be better?
This week's theme is People - here are the writing challenges:
Level A1: Opposite siblings
Level B1: If I were Wonder Woman
Level C1: Veuve Clicquot
And here are the dictées:
Level A2: Une journée chargée
Level A2: Bonjour !
Level A2: Description du docteur Arsène K. Merlan
Note: It is possible to retake these exercises - you'll find a link to do so on the final scoring page.
These tests are self-scoring, so after you translate or transcribe each phrase in turn, you'll be shown the correct French to compare to yours so that you can give yourself a score.
After each question, you'll find links to lessons on the grammar covered so you can easily add tricky ones to your own Notebook.
In these writing exercises, Kwizbot offers corrections for each phrase, to help you pinpoint your mistakes as you self-score.
Please note that this feature is in BETA, so you may encounter the occasional bug or glitch. Please do let us know about these by responding to this email so that we can get them fixed asap. As always, screenshots and information about your system (OS and browser, including versions) is extremely helpful. We'd also love to know what you think about the new format and function: good, bad or indifferent.
Already on our improvement list:
- Improvements to KwizBot's corrections (ongoing)
- Automarking (once Kwizbot is clever enough, hopefully quite soon)
- Kwizzes and English at the end to test and reinforce comprehension (once we figure out the smartest "Kwiziq way" to do this)
- Audio speed control (technically challenging, so it may not be soon, but it's on the list)
I hope you enjoy these challenges! Please don't hesitate to let me know what you think of this format!
